Early in the development of the OscarLine® system, we had a working prototype and a Training Kit. It worked well in our hands, but we needed real scrutiny.
We needed someone who could find the flaws we couldn’t see.
As a top-level instructor, Richard Brown was that person. If OscarLine® had weaknesses, he’d find them.
After a number of sea trials, he offered nothing but praise and encouragement.
As the Research and Development of OscarLine® evolved, Richard joined us in pushing the boundaries of design and materials. He continued to test with us, helping stretch the limits of recovery far beyond anything he’d ever experienced.
Eventually, in Force 7-8 conditions, using “Oscar,” our 90+kg dummy equipped with OscarLine®, Richard achieved two successful recoveries. This was an unprecedented test for a MOB Recovery System.
